Welcome to my Zoicks.Com eMail Form with Auction Number Help Page

A special thanks goes to everyone's favorite Photos/HTML expert, Bob Bull (Bobal), who originally posted this helpful tip.

How To Create eMail Forms for your Auctions

DISCLAIMER: Please note that you increase the risk of becoming a victim of spoof emails and spoof websites when you include your email address in your listings. eBay considers this one of the biggest security threats to your eBay account and they recommend only sending and receiving emails through their 'Contact Member' services.

If you want to include your email address in your listings please ensure that any incoming messages are carefully scrutinized. Never click on a link and give out sensitive information such as your password. For further information you can refer to this link...

Now back to our regularly scheduled program...
How would you like to have a link in your auction that will give your customer your eMail address and automatically fill out the auction number for them? Take a look!!

Got a question? Click Here to eMail me.
Now, you didn't see any auction number in there but when you enter the code shown below into your auction, you will see that it fills in the auction number automatically and will look like this:

<!--New email link--------><br><big><p align=center><big>Got a question?</BIG> <script language='JavaScript'> var auction=location.href; if (location.search.length > 0 && auction.indexOf('item=') > -1 && auction.indexOf('ebay.com') > -1) { auction=auction.substring(auction.indexOf('item=')+5); document.write('<a href=mailto:name@Yourisp.com?subject=eBay_Auction_'+auction+'>Click Here</a>'); } else { document.write('<a href=mailto:name@Yourisp.com?subject=Auction_Item>Click Here</a>'); }
</script>

Copy and paste the above code and make sure you change the eMail address to your own.
You can then check it on Jay's RanchoWeb Practice Board to ensure it's working properly.
